March is... Oral Health Month!

march is oral health month

We’re celebrating Oral Health Month in March, and you’re invited! We care for every part of our body and our mouths should be one of the first on the list. Hospitality Dental & Orthodontics would like to remind our patients about the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene, always.

Did you know that taking care of your oral health helps lessen your risk of various diseases and conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, pregnancy and birth complications, and lung infection? Oral diseases are a major health concern and negatively impact many people throughout their lives. The reason for this is often linked to other serious health issues one might not even be aware of yet. We are here to reassure you that there is no reason to suffer because most oral health conditions are preventable and can be treated in their early stages.

Normally the body’s natural defenses and good dental health care, such as daily brushing and flossing, can keep bacteria under control. However, without proper oral hygiene, bacteria can reach levels that might lead to oral infections, such as tooth decay and gum disease. Let's take better care of our oral health by eating a well-balanced diet, and limit sugary food and drinks, quitting smoking, and avoiding alcohol consumption. Don't forget to brush your teeth for two minutes at least twice a day, floss, and use a mouthwash every day.
